John & Haze - January 2007 John and I joined Harbour Friends 2 years ago, when I phoned Bev up in response to an advert she had placed in The Oracle (a freebie magazine delivered to harbour residents). Our first meeting was in the Yacht Bar (now Garden Room) - there were only 5/6 of us, and we were all a little nervous wondering what to expect, but we had a lovely evening chatting over a few drinks, and by the end it was as if we'd known each other for years. Little did we know that 2 years down the line we'd have 100 + members. Harbour Friends is the best thing that ever happened to us, it's made us feel we belong here but most importantly is bringing with it a wonderful feeling of community spirit, plus making a great number of brilliant friends. We salute you Bev! |
